Dodge Charger Fourth Generation

The Rare Fourth Gen Dodge Charger : 1975-1977

1975 Dodge Charger

Fourth is the Charger Chrysler Cordoba with a slightly different grille. Born in the middle of the fuel crisis and emissions regulations in the mid-70s, was wallowing in on the same wheelbase of 115 inches, and once again, as before continue the same suspension and structural elements. But now 218 inches in overall length - foot full longer than Charger'71.

Although the Chargers had previously made at least one signal for the fastback style, the fourth official position of the roof were cut abruptly to overstyled. Nose round headlights appear solo in their own binnacle to sea only slightly smaller than the round turn signals, which, in turn, just outside a rectangular box upright. is part of a large chrome bumper. If the Charger looks more than its twin near Cordoba then contemporary second generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Offered only as SE, 1975 Charger has only 360 cubic inch (5.9 liter) V8 with two-barrel carburetor performance version of the optional four-barrel 180 hp and 200 hp versions. The only transmission available is a three-speed automatic.

With the exception of the name of the floor, there was nothing on Charger'75 sport. This is a car built to float rather than roar, and even the addition of dual tone painted "Charger Daytona" in the half-yearly models may make it more attractive. With raised Coronet two-door pick up some sales, 30 812 Chargers make your way to the customer during this year's model.

1976 Charger

In 1976 the model range was extended to four models - based, sports Charger, Charger SE and Charger Daytona. Basic and Sport models used another body of the SE and Daytona, and they basically are reborned of what had been 1975 Dodge Coronet model 2 door - and is available with a 225 in (3.7 L) Six exceptional, which is not offered in SE and Daytona. Charger Daytona was introduced pending or rekindle the fire performance, but it amounted to little more than a band or tape deck. We do not offer or small blocks of 360 or 400 big block. Sales rose slightly to 65 900 in 1976.

1977 Charger

In 1977 the basis of the sender and threw Charger body exercise as a way to be part of the line B-new body named Monaco, and only the Charger SE and Charger Daytona voluntary. Sales dropped to 36 204.

1978 Charger

In 1978, only about 2,800 occur Chargers (possible to use part of the remaining stock of 1977 pieces), after which it was replaced by a kind 1978 Dodge Magnum.Dodge name luckily kill!

How bad is the fourth-generation Charger? So bad that basically has disappeared from the streets of America while the first, second - and third generation machines are still valuable collectors items' (the second most desirable). In other words, here in the 21st century are far more likely to see Charger'69 that you at'75, '76 or 77.

But this is not the car abysmal the last insult Charger name would be called.
